Asa B. Smith Trophy
Awarded to the winner of a Narrasketuck Class Regatta determined by the class before the sailing season begins, the Asa B. Smith Memorial Trophy established by GSBYRA honors Smith’s contribution as a significant Narrasketuck builder who furthered sailing on the Great South Bay. Smith, in his Patchogue boat shop built more Narrasketucks than any other builder of the boats. The trophy was originally awarded to the winner of the class at the Wet Pants regatta. Three races must be sailed to constitute a regatta.
